The Carp Lake has 6 x pegs all on one bank so no one is fishing opposite. Anglers have a good amount of water to fish. Originally stocked with 180 Carp and 80 tench the lake now has a higher stock due to spawning.
The lake is netted every year removing smaller fish and swims fed daily when there are no anglers.
Carp up to 24lbs expected to be high 20 by the end of 2020 with lots of new 20lbs+ coming through.
A sunken island is situated in the middle of the Carp Lake at a depth of 3ft which drops to 6ft with a second visible island at one end. The lake is a sand/clay bottom with minimum weed, other than marginal plants.
Woodside lakes is located in the beautiful Pewsey Vale, Patney, Wiltshire – A three acre specimen carp lake, 5 acre Match/Pleasure lake and a 3 acre stock pond. A little bit of History and information: In 2011 the lakes were dug on wet spring fed ground being difficult to farm and with Richards love of fishing it became an obvious farm diversification. The lakes were left for a year after being dug and was then stocked in 2012. 5000 trees were planted too attract wildlife and provide cover as well as a 1000 meter otter fence to protect the fish and increase security.
