Meringue is a very popular dessert type that has since become part and parcel of one of the most famous desserts in western bakery culture. Meringue is made from whipped egg whites and sugar, giving it a very light and melt in the mouth kind of texture that makes it ideal for use in many desserts and even in its own styled pie. It is ideally matched up with lemon but it can also be paired with many other sweet ingredients depending on what you want to create. Originating in France at the end of the 17th century, it is a very popular dessert type used in not only French but Italian and Swiss baking. Known still as pets in French language, the meringue is such an easy food item to make and eat but don’t be fooled by its simplicity, it is not known to be a healthy option.

Meringue fishing flavours a very light and sweet much like a marshmallow style of bait flavour. The difference here however is that meringue has more of a baked flavour compared to the lighter alternative, giving this sweet flavour a base of a more savoury tone.
